Obituary

GLOUCESTER: Joseph C. King, 64, passed away after a long, courageous battle with cancer on Thursday, November 8, 2012. He was the husband of the late Charlene (Danna) King, who died in February of 2008.
Born in Gloucester on February 14, 1948, he was the son of the late Anthony “Jeff” and Edna (Durgin) King. He was raised and attended school in Rockport.
Joe was a proud member of the U.S. Coast Guard and veteran of the Vietnam War Era. He was also a skilled master electrician, having worked for many years along with his brother, George, at J. King Electric.
He is survived by his children Nino, husband of Carolina Parco, Nicole King, and Jeffery King; his siblings, George, husband of Katie King, Carol, wife of William Maciel, and Susan, wife of Scott Lane, and his grandchildren, Blake, Alyssa and Jillian Parco, Christina, Peyton, Nicholas and Ava Hovis and a great-grandson, Dodge. He is also survived by his mother-in-law Anne Danna and many nieces and nephews.In addition to his wife and parents, he was predeceased by his father-in-law, Nicholas Danna.
His funeral service will be held on Tuesday morning in the Pike-Grondin Funeral Home, 61 Middle Street, Gloucester at 10:30 a.m. Visitation will be held prior to the service from 9 – 10:30. Relatives and friends are cordially invited to attend. Interment will be held in the Calvary Cemetery.
