Obituary

Geoffrey W.D. Harper, 68 of Londonderry, NH died November 7, 2012 at his home surrounded by his loving family. Mr. Harper was born in Bingley, England on June 6, 1944, a son of the late Samuel and Muriel (Harrison) Harper. He served with the US Army during the Vietnam War. Mr. Harper worked as a supermarket executive for 40 years, most of which was spent working for Star Market. He was also the Director of the Massachusetts Food Association. Mr. Harper was an avid singer, song writer and musician, and was an active participant and musician for St. Barbara’s Parish in Woburn for many years. He volunteered as an “Earth Angel” for Angel Flight and was an avid boating enthusiast.

He is survived by his wife of 46 years, Elizabeth A. (Doherty) Harper of Londonderry, two daughters, Christie Campbell and her husband Bruce of Londonderry, Shelley Delaney and her husband Kevin of Beverly, MA, one son, Keith Harper and his wife Jennifer of Hickory, NC, 11 loving grandchildren, his sister, Catherine Allen and her husband John of Naugatuck, CT, his sister-in-law, Beryl Harper of Durham, NH and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his brother, James Harper in 2011.

Following cremation, friends and family are welcome to gather in a celebration of Geoffrey’s life on Sunday from 12:00 pm on at the family’s home, 16 Nevins Dr., Londonderry. A memorial mass will be celebrated on Monday November 12th at 10:00 am in St. Barbara’s Parish, 138 Cambridge Rd., Woburn, MA. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the local food bank of your choice. The Peabody Funeral Homes and Crematorium of Derry and Londonderry is assisting the family with arrangements.
