Vernon E. “Moe” Harper, 64, of Ocilla, Georgia died Tuesday, November 6, 2012, at Osceola Health Care in Ocilla, Georgia.
Funeral services will be held at 2 P. M., Friday, November 9, 2012 at the Paulk Funeral Home Chapel in Ocilla with the Rev. David Biggers officiating. Interment will follow in the Lax Cemetery. The family will receive friends Thursday evening from 7 to 9 at the funeral home in Ocilla.
Mr. Harper was born May 26, 1948 in Irwin County to the late Elisha and Dessie Allen Harper. Mr. Harper lived in the community all of his life. He was of the Baptist faith and he enjoyed reading, fishing and rabbit hunting with his beagles.
He is survived by his wife: Frances G. Harper of Ocilla; daughters: Dessica & Tommy Campbell of Ocilla, Charla Harper of Ocilla; son: Josh V. & Amber Harper of Ocilla; grandchildren: Kristen and Jacob Harper; two brothers: Ronald Harper & Faye Roberson of Ocilla and Charles Harper of Ocilla; sisters: Aline Leverett of Ocilla, Margaret Railey of Fitzgerald, Mary Zane & William Forbis of Peachland, North Carolina and Alicia Harper & Johnny Cain of Fitzgerald and several nieces and nephews. Along with his parents he was preceded in death by four brothers and two sisters.
