Mary Lou (Reilly) Valente, 54, of Cranbury, passed away Sunday, November 4, 2012 in Plainsboro, NJ.
Born and raised in Reading, MA, she moved to Montreal, Canada in 1984 and resided there for six years before settling in Cranbury, NJ.
Mary Lou received a Bachelor of Science in Marketing from Babson College, Wellesley, MA. She held a variety of positions throughout her career, and most recently was employed as an Administrative Assistant, in the Cancer Center at the University Medical Center of Princeton at Plainsboro. Previously, Mary Lou had worked at Colgate Palmolive, Siemens, Johnson and Johnson, and Merwick Care Center.
Mary Lou was a kind and generous woman with many interests Active in her community, she was a member of the Cranbury Women’s Club and a communicant of the Nativity of Our Lord Church, Monroe, NJ. Mary Lou loved music, was an accomplished pianist, and as a member of Princeton Pro Musica, performed at Carnegie Hall. In her spare time, Mary Lou enjoyed gardening, doing needle point and weaving baskets. She had a passion for traveling, and celebrated her 50th birthday at the pyramids in Egypt, a life long dream. Above all else, Mary Lou’s greatest joy was entertaining her family and many special friends.
Daughter of the late Daniel J. and Kathleen A. Reilly, she is survived by her husband Agostino P. “Aggie” Valente, her mother- in- law Berardina Valente; her sisters, Kathleen A Galvin and her husband “Skip”; Joan M. Alaimo and her husband Mike; Nancy Reilly Webster and her husband Chuck; her sister-in-law Giovanna Valente and her husband Peter Ho. Mary Lou also leaves her nephews, Matthew and Patrick Galvin, Mark Alaimo and his wife Meredith, Eric Alaimo, Jonathan Ho, and niece Lauren Ho, grandniece Julia Alaimo and grandnephew Dominic Alaimo.
Funeral service will begin at 9:45 on Saturday, November 10, 2012 at A.S. Cole Funeral Home, 22 North Main Street, Cranbury, NJ. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. at Nativity of Our Lord R.C. Church, 185 Applegarth Road, Monroe Township, NJ 08831
A memorial mass will take place on Monday, November 12, 2012 at 10:00AM in St. Agnes Church 186 Woburn St. Reading, MA.
A burial will take place at 11:30AM in Holy Sepulchre Cemetery, Waverly Rd. North Andover, MA on Monday, November 12, 2012.
Family and friends may call from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. and 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. on Friday at the A.S. Cole Funeral Home.
