Elizabeth H. “Libby” Gabis, 75, of Worcester died Tuesday, November 6th in St. Vincent Hospital after an illness. She leaves her husband of 56 years, David F. Gabis, Sr.; a son, S. Dewayne Gabis of Worcester; a daughter, Darlene Milionis and her husband, Greg of Worcester; a brother, Larry Huggins of Hartsville, SC; two sisters, Jean Stratton and Brenda Sullivan both of Hartsville, SC; six grandchildren, Melissa, Georgia, Kristen, Vasiliki, Gregory and Nikolaos; three great grandchildren, Akhai, Launa and Cole and several nieces and nephews including Dr. Jennifer Do. She was predeceased by a son, David F. Gabis, Jr.
Mrs. Gabis was born in Hartsville, South Carolina the daughter of Samuel A. and Trudy Fay (Boykin) Huggins. Libby was a frame spinner for 20 years at S & D Spinning Mill in Millbury, retiring in 2011. She enjoyed going to the ocean, Twin Rivers, cookbooks and watching cooking shows. Libby loved spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren.
A graveside service will be held at 11:00 AM on Friday, November 9th in Worcester County Memorial Park, Paxton. Calling hours are Thursday, November 8th from 6:00 until 8:00 PM in O’CONNOR BROTHERS FUNERAL HOME, 592 Park Avenue.
