Attleboro—Eleanor M. (Stewart) VanLeeuwen 88, of Attleboro, and a former longtime resident of Franklin, died peacefully Sunday November 4, 2012 at the Life Care Center in Attleboro, following a long illness.
Born March 22, 1924 in Franklin, a daughter of the late Herbert C. and Pansy G. (Usher) Stewart she was raised and educated in Franklin, and also had lived in Wrentham for many years.
She worked at the former Parmenter Farms in Franklin, was an administrative assistant for the American Red Cross in Attleboro, and was a devoted mother to her children.
She was a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution and St. Mary’s Church, Wrentham.
Eleanor is survived by her children; James R. Vanleeuwen of Orlando, Fla., Eileen M. Lozzi of Franklin, Patricia LaChapelle of Daytona Beach, Fla., and Judith Mutchler of Taunton, a brother Lester Stewart of Attleboro and 4 grandchildren & 2 great grandchildren.
She is the mother of the late Kathleen Harwood & Susan Elizabeth VanLeeuwen, & sister of the late Helen Hale and Herbert C. Stewart, Jr., & Eleanor is the former wife of James R. VanLeeuwen.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend her funeral Mass Saturday November 10th, at 10:30AM in St. Mary’s Church 130 South St. Wrentham, MA 02093. Interment will follow at Union Street Cemetery, Franklin.
