Obituary

WORCESTER-Rheta A. (Trainor) Nishan of Worcester died Friday, June 11th in St. Vincent Hospital.

She was born in Shrewsbury the daughter of Michael J. and Annie (Gillan) Trainor and attended St. Peter’s Grammar and High School. During WWII she worked for E.I. Dupont in Buffalo, NY and the Army Signal Corp in Washington DC, returning to Worcester after the war. Retired for many years, she was a cosmetologist, representative and instructor for beauty product manufacturers, traveling and servicing beauty schools and salons in the northeast region. In recent years she worked part time at Sutton Apartments as a rental agent.

She leaves two sons, Capt. James J. Nishan, Worcester Police Department of Millbury and Michael K. Nishan, retired Worcester Firefighter of Worcester, two granddaughters, Kelly Nishan of Worcester and Kathleen Thurber of Sturbridge, a grandson, Ryan Nishan of Millbury, three great granddaughters and many nephews and nieces.

A Mass in celebration of Rheta’s life will be held on Tuesday, June 15th at Noon in St. Joan of Arc Church, 570 Lincoln Street followed by burial in St. John’s Cemetery. There are no calling hours. O’CONNOR BROTHERS FUNERAL HOME, 592 Park Avenue is directing arrangements.
