Obituary








LEICESTER: Helen A. (Hatjakos) Rancke 88, of Mayflower Circle, died Monday, Nov. 5 at the Ichabod Washburn Hospice Residence in Worcester.

She was the wife of Karl W. Rancke who died in 2002. She leaves her daughters Karla T. Evans and her husband Arthur of Madison, N.Y., and Diane H. Jurgiel and her husband Stephen of Worcester, a brother George Hatjakos and his wife Jeannette of Northborough, a sister Constance Donohue of Worcester, 6 grand children; Derek Stefanski and his wife Taunya, Kayla Stefanski, Joseph, Stephanie and Michael Jurgiel and Aeddon Evans, a great grandson Mason Barrett, nieces and nephews. She is predeceased by a brother Gregory Hatjakos and sisters June Buron and Marion Bandy.

"Nana", as she was affectionately known, was an avid reader, loved to play the organ, and enjoyed gardening. But most of all, Nana loved her family and was dearly loved in return. She was especially proud of all of her grand children. Nana will forever be missed by all.

Born in Worcester, she was the daughter of Alexander and Anastasia (Bakulski) Hatjakos. She was a member of the First Congregational Church of Leicester.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, Nov. 8 at 11a.m. in the First Congregational Church of Leicester, 1 Washburn Sq., Leicester. Burial will follow in Notre Dame Cemetery, Worcester. Calling hours at the MORIN-MORRISON FUNERAL HOME, 1131 Main St., Leicester are Wednesday, Nov. 7 from 5 to 7p.m. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the First Congregational Church of Leicester Memorial Fund, 1 Washburn Sq., Leicester 01524.
