Anita C. (DeStasio) Notaro 86, of Franklin, died peacefully, Thursday November 1, 2012 at the Kindred Transitional Care & Rehabilitation Center in Franklin, following a long illness. She was the wife of the late John P. Notaro, Sr. who died in 2009.
Born July 29, 1926 in Rochester, New York, a daughter of the late Cosmo & Catherine DeStasio, she was a resident of Franklin for over ten years, and was a former longtime resident of Madison, Connecticut.
She was raised and educated in the Bronx, New York and until her retirement several years ago, she worked as a bookkeeper for Vera Manufacturing.
Anita enjoyed reading, politics, cooking and treasured time spent with her family, especially her grandchildren.
She is survived by her daughters, Therese J. Notaro of Franklin and Judy A. Niedzwecki of Clinton and her grandchildren Maria, John, and Anthony Notaro, & Sarah Niedzwecki.
She is the mother of the late John P. Notaro, Jr., and the sister of the late Raphael, Vincent DeStasio, Constance Piscopo, Florence DeStasio and Phyllis Borghese.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend her funeral Mass Saturday November 10th at 10:00AM in St. Mary’s Church 1 Church Sq. Franklin. Her interment will be held privately.
There are no calling hours.
