Martha Dickerson Eriksson, age 71, passed away peacefully at home in Longwood, FL on October 24, 2012.
Becky was born on March 9, 1941 in Hopkinsville, KY to George and Alice Dickerson. She grew up in Clarksville, TN and graduated from Austin Peay State University.
She is survived by her husband of 46 years, Lars Eriksson of Longwood, FL; sister, Sara Hunt of Clarksville, TN; nephew, Daniel Hunt of Longwood, FL and niece, Susan Hunt of Longwood, FL.
She moved to Central Florida in 1962 and taught for 34 years at Maitland Middle School, where she was a sponsor of the school's Honor Society and served as the faculty chairperson. Of all the students that she taught, she was especially proud of the tremendous success of the school's Quiz Bowl Team, which she sponsored for many years, and won the Orange County championship several times.
A gathering of friends will be held on Sunday, October 28, 2012 from 4-7 p.m., at Baldwin Fairchild Funeral Home, 994 East Altamonte Drive, Altamonte Springs, FL. Interment will take place on November 3, 2012 at 11 a.m., at Resthaven Memorial Gardens in Clarksville, TN.
