Son of the late William F. and Catherine M. (Hickey) Kelly of Mission Hill. Brother of the late Francis, Leo, Thomas, Joseph, Mary, Marguerite Eileen Elizabeth and the Rev. Fr. Vincent J. Kelly of the Mission Church, Roxbury. Cherished uncle of John F. Toomey and his wife of Elizabeth of Dedham, Catherine and her husband Daniel Duncan of Three Rivers, MA and many other nieces , nephews, grand & great grand nieces and nephews. Loving friend and fellow priest of Rev. Henry Jennings, also of St Joseph's Parish, and kind friend of Sister Veronica Cawley M.M.M.
Visiting hours in the Jeanne Jugan Residence, Little Sisters of the Poor, 186 Highland Avenue, Somerville on Wednesday 2:00-4:00pm.
Father Kelly will lie in state in St. Joseph’s Upper Church, Union Square, Somerville on Thursday 3:00pm- 7:00pm. Relatives, friends and parishioners gratefully invited.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be concelebrated in St. Joseph’s Church Friday at 11am.
Father Kelly served at St. Brigid Parish, South Boston, Cambridge City Hospital as Chaplain, St. Thomas Moore, Braintree, St. Vincent’s Parish, South Boston and finally, St. Joseph’s Parish, Somerville since 1970. Fr. Kelly was a beloved pastor and baptized, married and served generations of parishioners. Member of the Pere Marquette for 50 years.
