Obituary

Diane G. (Landi) Heafey, 72, of Natick, formerly of Watertown and Belmont, passed away on November 3, 2012 at the Metro West Medical Center in Natick. She was the beloved wife of the late Daniel J. Heafey, Jr. who passed away in 2001.

The daughter of the late Ercoli and Philomena (Ferraro) Landi, Diane was pre-deceased by her natural mother Genoveffa (Disario) Landi who died when Diane was just 2 weeks old. She was raised in Watertown where she graduated from Watertown High School in 1957. Diane married Daniel in 1963 and they settled in Natick in 1969. She worked for a number of years at the Liberty Mutual Insurance Company and then the Western Electric Company. Diane was also dedicated to the students of Natick High School where she worked in the cafeteria. Competitive by nature, Diane was an avid and enthusiastic bowler who enjoyed both ten-pin and candlepin bowling. She was a fixture with her many friends at the Fairway Lanes Bowling Alley in Natick. She loved following the Boston sports teams and was a communicant and Eucharistic minister at St. Linus Church.

Diane is survived by 5 children, Daniel Heafey and Davone Lee of Natick, William Heafey of Natick, Robert Heafey of Natick, James Heafey of Natick, and Jean Trumpis and her husband Todd of Westborough. She was the cherished grandmother of Jayme, Chrysta, Benny, Caelen, Christopher, Candace, Amanda, Olivia, Ethan, Dylan, and Austin; and the dear sister of Richard Landi and his wife Patty of Dennis, David Landi and his wife Claire of Yarmouth, Carol Keen and her husband Bob of TX, and Jean Perkins and Bob Grant of FL.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend Diane’s funeral from the John Everett & Sons Funeral Home, 4 Park St. (at Natick Common) NATICK on Tuesday, November 6, 2012 at 9:00 AM to be followed by her Mass of Christian Burial in St. Linus Church, 119 Hartford St. Natick at 10:00 AM. Burial will follow in St. Patrick’s Cemetery, Natick. Visiting hours will be held on Monday, November 5, 2012 from 2-4 & 6-8 PM.
