TEWKSBURY: Alexander F. Kelley, age 84, a resident of Tewksbury, formerly of Medford, Woburn, and Moultonborough NH, passed away on Friday, November 2, 2012 at Bayberry Assisted Living in Tewksbury. He was the beloved husband Virginia A. (Lucas) Kelley who he was married to for 64 years.
Born in Boston on January 12, 1928, he was the son of the late Alexander F. Kelley, Sr. and the late Mary (Petronio) Kelley.
Alexander was raised in Medford and graduated from Medford High School in 1947, received a Bachelor's degree from Northeastern University and his Master's degree from Babson College.
Alexander served in the U.S. Coast Guard during the Korean War.
Prior to his retirement, Alexander worked as an Electronics Engineer at Hanscom Air Force Base in Bedford, MA for 21 years.
He was a member of the Woburn Elks, was an avid golfer, and also enjoyed boating and skiing.
In addition to his wife Virginia he is survived by two daughters, Maria Carpenter and her husband Gary of Peterborough, NH, Diane Kelley (formerly of Woburn) and her husband Jeffrey Garber; and one son, Alexander F. Kelley and his wife Kathleen (Vocelle) of Tewksbury; ten grandchildren, Jessica Knappe, Virginia Fulton, David Still, Alexander and Kris Carpenter, Katie Lucas, Heather, Cyndiann, Alexandra and Stella Kelley; also 5 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
Mr. Kelley was the brother of the late John, Thomas, Robert, and Leo Kelley, and Anna Bradley.
Calling hours Sunday, November 4th, from 4-8 p.m., at the Farmer & Dee Funeral Home, 16 Lee St., Tewksbury. Funeral Monday, November 5th, at 10:30 a.m., from the funeral home, followed by his Funeral Mass at 11:30 a.m., at St. William's Church, 1351 Main St., Rte. 38, Tewksbury. Interment at Oak Grove Cemetery, Medford, MA.
