GLOUCESTER: Lucille A. “Lulu” Genovese, 90, died Wednesday, October 31, 2012 surrounded by her family in the Den Mar Nursing & Rehabilitation Center. She was the wife of the late Albert Genovese, Sr. who died in 1998.
Born in Gloucester on December 13, 1921, she was the daughter of the late Raymond “Gillie” and Rosella V. (Oliver) Rogers. Lulu was a lifelong resident of Gloucester and a graduate of Gloucester High School. A lifetime homemaker and devoted mother, she loved to play cards, go dancing and watch her favorite soap operas. She will always be remembered as one of a kind and there will never be another like her!
She is survived by her loving daughter and son-in-law, Donna M. (Genovese) and Gregory Koller of Gloucester; six grandchildren, Gregory Koller, Jr., Christopher Koller, Tiffany (Koller) Smith, Brittany Koller, Michele Genovese and Bobby Genovese and five great-grandchildren. She was also predeceased by her son, Albert Genovese, Jr.
Her funeral Mass will be celebrated on Tuesday in Our Lady of Good Voyage Church, Prospect St., Gloucester at 9:30 a.m. Relatives and friends are cordially invited to attend. There are no visiting hours. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in her memory to the “Resident Activity Fund” of Den Mar Nursing & Rehabilitation Center, 44 South St., Rockport, MA 01966. Arrangements are under the direction of the Pike-Grondin Funeral Home, 61 Middle St., Gloucester.
