Obituary

TEWKSBURY: Raymond L. Kelleher, age 83, a resident of Tewksbury for over 50 years, died Thursday, June 10, 2004 at Saints Memorial Medical Center in Lowell.

He was the husband of Martha Q. (Millett) Kelleher.

Born in Lowell on January 9, 1921, he was the son of the late Austin and Elizabeth (Martin) Kelleher.

Mr. Kelleher was raised in Lowell.

He attended Lowell schools and graduated from Lowell High School.

Mr. Kelleher was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II and served in Central Europe.

Prior to his retirement, he worked for 49 years at the Tewksbury State Hospital. In addition, he worked for many years tending bar at the Anchor Restaurant in Tewksbury.

Mr. Kelleher was active in local civic organizations.

He was Commander of the Jackson Gourley American Legion Post # 259, a charter member of the Tewksbury-Wilmington Elks # 2070 and served as a coach for the Tewksbury Little League Baseball program.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by 1 daughter; Margaret Leonard and her husband Daniel of Stoughton, 2 sons; Lawrence Kelleher and his wife June of Nashua, NH and William Kelleher and his wife Cindy of Lowell; 5 grandchildren; Daniel Leonard, Jr. and Sarah Leonard, Timothy Kelleher and his wife Jessica, Meghan and William Kelleher; also many nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews.

At the family’s request there will be NO Calling hours. Funeral services will be private. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations to Tewksbury Hospital, Attn: Patients Fund, East St., Tewksbury, MA 01876 would be appreciated. Arrangements entrusted to the FARMER & DEE FUNERAL HOME, TEWKSBURY
