Daniel J. Melanson of Reading passed away on Saturday, October 27, 2012 at Lahey Clinic Medical Center in Burlington. He was 55 years of age.
Daniel was born in Winchester, the son of George Melanson and the late Theresa “Helen” (Toussaint) Melanson. Daniel was a warm and caring son, brother, husband, father, grandfather and friend. He will be missed by all who knew him.
Daniel was born and raised in Reading. He was a huge sports fan, especially for the Boston sports teams. Daniel was a graduate of Reading Memorial High School, playing for the varsity hockey and baseball teams. He enjoyed playing cards and going to Hampton Beach.
Daniel was a proud United States Marine Corps Veteran. He was a loyal and dedicated member of the American Legion Post 62 in Reading. His true love was being with and playing with his grandchildren. He loved having family and friends over the house, especially around Christmas time.
Daniel was the devoted father of Candice Bamberg and her husband Damien of Billerica, Daniel J. Melanson, Jr. and his fiancé Janine Hadge of Lynn, Darlene Lombardini and her husband Pete of NY, Timothy Melanson and his girlfriend Brenna Curren of Reading and Emma Melanson of Billerica. He was the cherished pop of Ava and Summer Bamberg. Daniel was the dear brother of Linda Melanson of Reading, the loving uncle of Logan Hughes of Reading and the beloved fiancé of Sandra Kittery of Reading.
Family and friends are cordially invited to gather and share remembrances with the Family on Thursday from 4-8pm in the Doherty – Barile Family Funeral Home, 11 Linden St. READING. Parking attendants and handicapped entrance are available.
