TEWKSBURY: E. Warren Osterman, age 82, a lifelong resident of Tewksbury and owner of the former Osterman’s Dairy, went home to be with the Lord, Wednesday, June 9, 2004.
He was the husband of Doris (Small) Osterman with whom he would have celebrated their 59th wedding anniversary on October 2nd.
Born in Lowell on November 2, 1921, he was the son of the late Edwin W. and Hazel (Cluff) Osterman.
Mr. Osterman attended Tewksbury schools and graduated from Tewksbury High School in 1939. He later graduated from Burdette College in 1941.
Prior to his retirement in 1981, he owned and operated the former Osterman’s Dairy, which was founded by his late grandfather Aaron Osterman. Mr. Osterman was the third generation of his family to run the West Tewksbury dairy which provided farm fresh milk, dairy products and eggs to area residents, retirement homes and businesses for over 95 years.
He was a member of the Marsh Corner Community Church in Methuen.
Mr. Osterman enjoyed many activities including bowling, playing tennis and pitching horse shoes.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by 1 daughter; Nancy D. Kane and her husband J. Houghton Kane of Hatfield, PA; 1 sons; Glenn W. Osterman and his wife Marcia (Lanning) of Tewksbury; 1 sister; Eleanor O. Caddell and her husband David of Tewksbury; 6 grandchildren; Heather Kane Cobb and her husband Lance of Pennsylvania, Alison Kane and her husband Joshua Johnson of New York, Judson S. Kane of Pennsylvania, Aaron W. Osterman, Rachel B. and Rebecca M. Osterman all of Tewksbury; 2 great grandchildren; Tadan M. and Sydney E. Cobb.
Mr. Osterman was the brother of the late Allan Osterman.
Calling hours Sunday 4-8 p.m. at the FARMER & DEE FUNERAL HOME, 16 LEE ST., TEWKSBURY. Funeral services Monday at 10 a.m. at the Marsh Corner Community Church, Pelham St., Methuen. Interment at Lowell Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions to the Marsh Corner Community Church, Attn: General Fund, 317 Pelham St., Methuen, MA 01844 would be appreciated.
