Vernon Taylor, age 96, of Douglas, GA passed away on Wednesday, October 31, 2012 at Coffee Regional Medical Center following a brief illness. Mr. Taylor was born on February 13, 1916, in Alma, GA to the late Johnny B and Mary Jane Music Taylor. Mr. Taylor served in the US Army during WWII.
Survivors include: six sons: Larry Vernon Taylor, of Douglasville, GA, Dennis Calvin Taylor, Sr., of Oxford, GA, Jimmy Ray Taylor, Timothy Taylor, both of Alma, GA, Joey Randle Taylor, of Odum, GA, and Robert Lee Taylor, of Douglas, GA, two daughters: Patricia Ann Moore, of Alma, GA and Mary Jane Ladson, of Douglas, GA, twenty-three grandchildren, several great grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by
Wife, Ethel Sapp Taylor. One son, Gary Wayne Taylor and four sisters, Ethel Meeks, Ella Mae Nelson, Eunice Bennett, and Bernie Mae Davis.
Visitation will be held on Friday, November 2, 2012 from 6-9 pm.
Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, November 3, 2012 at 2 :00 p.m. at Wesley Chapel with Rev. Shirley Jump, Rev. John Thomas, and Rev. Lynn Music officiating. Interment followed at Wolf Pit Cemetery.
