Obituary

Paul O. Aho, 91, of Beverly, husband of the late Elsie V. (Lohnes) Aho, died Friday, October 26, 2012 at the Kaplan Family Hospice House, Danvers.

Born and raised in Peabody, he was the son of the late Emil and Aino (Autio) Aho. He lived in Salem until moving to Beverly where he has resided in Ryal Side since 1950.

An Army veteran of WWII, Mr. Aho served with the 9601st Technical Services Unit, Co. C. and attained the rank of Private First Class.

Prior to his retirement, Paul was employed as a millwright at the A.C. Lawrence Leather Company in Peabody for many years. He was a member of the CCC (Civilian Conservation Corps) during the 1930's.

He loved to golf and the Middleton Golf Course was one of his favorites. He spoke several languages, including Finnish and Greek. Mr. Aho had a love for music and played several instruments including, guitar, mandolin, banjo and accordion.

He is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Linda and Alan Wilkins of Middleton, a grandson, Michael Wilklins of Middleton, and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a brother, Lauri Aho and two sisters, Irene Masse and Helen Boylan.

Visiting hours will be held Friday, November 2, 2012 from 4 to 7 pm at the Full-Spychalski Funeral Home, 84 Washington Square East, by Salem Common, Salem. A memorial service will be held on Saturday November 3 in the funeral home, at 10 am, with a committal service to follow at Greenlawn Cemetery, Salem.
