Hudson, MA
Joseph J. “Flipper” Rossley Sr., 78, of Hudson, died on Thursday, Oct. 25th at his residence surrounded by his loving family. He leaves his wife of 57 years, Joan (McIlveen) Rossley of Hudson.
Joseph was born and raised in Hudson, son of the late David and Mary (Stanina) Geldart-Rossley. He attended local schools and resided in Hudson his whole life. He was employed as a shipping and receiving clerk for 35 years by the former Laurence Stationary Co. of Framingham. He was also a bartender locally for many years. He played the drums for the Drum and Bugle Corps and spent time coaching Little League Baseball. He played softball in the Hudson Men’s Softball League and was a former coach of Cordeiro’s Softball Team in Hudson.
Joseph enjoyed people and making them laugh. He looked forward to his yearly family vacations in Ocean Park, ME and spending time at his summer residence in Old Orchard Beach, ME.
Besides his wife, he is survived by his son, Joseph “Jay” Rossley Jr. and his wife Mary Ann of Southboro; his two daughters, Kim (Rossley) Horton and Joanne Rossley, both of Hudson. He is also survived by his brother, John Rossley and his wife Sharon of Hudson; his two grandchildren, Shelby and Shania Horton and many nieces and nephews.
Calling hours will be held on Sunday, Oct. 28th from 9:00 to 11:00 a.m. at the Tighe-Hamilton Funeral Home, Inc. 50 Central Street, Hudson, MA 01749 followed by a service and celebration of Joseph’s life on Sunday, Oct. 28th at 11:00 a.m. in the funeral home. Burial will follow in Forestvale Cemetery, Hudson.
