William C. Thoman, 89, of Chopmist Hill Road, Chepachet, died Friday in the Cherry Hill Manor, Johnston. He was the husband of the late Mildred V. (Salisbury) Thoman. He was the founder and the president of Thoman and Austin Heating and Air Conditioning.
Born in Foster, son of the late Albert and Eugenie (Tardiff) Thoman, he had lived in Foster before moving to Chepachet. He had served in the Merchant Marines during WWII. He was a member of Chepachet Union Church, the Friendship Lodge #7 and the Chepachet Grange.
He leaves his daughter, Kathleen E. Raleigh of Scituate a granddaughter Jennifer E. Givens, siblings, Albert Thoman, George Thoman, Douglas Thoman and Carol Kennedy all of Foster, Kenneth Thoman of Trumball, CT, Wilfred Thoman of Tulsa, OK. He was the brother of the late Delcia Sweet, Roland Thoman and Marylou White, Rose Shippee.
His funeral will be held Monday at 9:30am in the Anderson-Winfield Funeral Home, Route 44 at Greenville Common, Greenville. Burial in Acote’s Hill Cemetery, Chepachet. Visitation Sunday 2-5pm.
