Obituary

Gollar, Herman C., Jr. “Corky”, 69, of Louisville, passed away Wednesday, October 24, 2012.

He was a proud graduate of the Trinity High School Class of 1961. He served in the Army Reserves out of Fort Knox.

After retirement from Ford KTP, Corky continued to enjoy spending time with all the friends he met and made from growing up in Germantown, attending St. Therese, and weekends spent at Nolin Lake.

He was affectionately known by many as “the Big German” but to family he was Dad, Grandpa, Uncle, and “Big Brother”.

Corky was preceded in death by his parents, Herman C. Gollar, Sr. and Mary G. Gollar, and his wife, Linda Jo Ownbey Gollar.

He is survived by his daughter, Dawn, his son Darin (Erin); and grandchildren, Kalyn, Aidan and Connor. Corky is also survived by seven siblings, Terry Monhollen, Rose Lewis, Robert (Mary), Joe (Kelly) and John Gollar, Joyce Carrico (Jerry) and Lynn Gollar.

The funeral service will be Monday, October 29 at 7:00 PM at Owen Funeral Home-Jeffersontown, 9318 Taylorsville Road. Visitation will be from 5:00-8:00 pm Sunday and 12:00-7:00 pm Monday at Owen Funeral Home.

Corky’s family would like to offer our sincerest appreciation to his doctors and the staff at Baptist Hospital East. And a special thanks to his personal nurses, Lesley and Kelly.
