Obituary

Mr. Ernest W. Lattanzi, a resident of Andover for the past eight years and formerly of Melrose, died at the Wingate at Andover Nursing Center on Tuesday morning, October 23, 2012. Ernest was the beloved and devoted husband of Barbara Ann (Blair) Lattanzi.
Born in Malden, Massachusetts, on February 14, 1926, he was the beloved son of the late Nella (Ravioli) Lattanzi. Ernest was a proud WWII Army veteran, entering the military at Boston on December 7, 1943 and receiving his honorable discharge from Ft. Devens on May 26, 1946. While serving in the Army, Mr. Lattanzi worked as a Medical Technician and was a qualified Sharpshooter. He received the Good Conduct Medal, American Theater Campaign Ribbon and the Victory Medal for his exemplary service.
In civilian life, Mr. Lattanzi was an engineer and president of the former Kevlin Microwave Corporation for more than 40 years. In his spare time, Mr. Lattanzi enjoyed playing golf and driving his cars. He also enjoyed watching football, especially when played by his grandson. Above all, Ernest was a very devoted husband, father and grandfather.
Besides his beloved wife Barbara, Ernest will be very sorely missed by his loving children; Ernest, Jr. of Revere and Eva Marie and her husband Joseph Flaherty, Jr. of Andover, devoted siblings; Olga Lazzari, Virginia Lund of Malden, Marietta Rocco of Everett and Eugene Lattanzi of Medford, cherished grandchildren; Adam, Jessica, Jake, Sarah and Emma and several nieces and nephews.
