Amy Hunter Owens, 49, of Fitzgerald, Georgia died October 25, 2012 at her residence.
Funeral services will be held 2 P.M., Sunday, October 28, 2012 at the Paulk Funeral Home Chapel in Fitzgerald with the Rev. Ronny Griner officiating. Interment will follow in the Evergreen Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 7-9 Saturday evening at the funeral home.
Mrs. Owens was born August 3, 1963 in Tallahassee, Florida to the late Walter Mack Hunter and Betty Ruth White Hunter. She graduated in 1981 from the Fitzgerald High School and attended East Central Technical College. She was an electrician and worked for the IBEW Local #1531 for 20 years. She was a member of the Albany Elks Lodge. She collected coins, pins and was an avid supporter of the Atlanta Braves, the Georgia Bulldogs and the Fitzgerald Hurricanes. Mrs. Owens was a member of Crossview Baptist Church.
She is survived by a son and daughter-in law: Michael Walter “Lil O” & Amy Brown Owens; three grandchildren: John Michael “Baby O” Owens, Hunter Mack McCrimmon and Khloe McCrimmon; sister in-law: Debbie “D.R.” Roberts of Fitzgerald; niece: Michelle Murray, Nicole Murray, Carla Michelle Roberts; nephews: Tim Burch and Brian Owens. Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband: Mike “Mr. O.” Owens; sister: Bridgette Carol Murray and a brother: Mike Hunter.
