Obituary

SUDBURY: Warren Judd Wright, 88, died peacefully on Monday evening, October 22, 2012 under the care and comfort of his family at the family homestead in Sudbury where he was born and several generations before him who lived and worked on the family farm.

Warren was born on January 25, 1924 the son of the late Clifford Sanderson Wright and Alta Charlena (Dunham) Wright.

He is survived by his beloved and loving wife of 65 years, Dorothy M. (Burke) Wright of Sudbury. Devoted father of Janice E. Fine and her husband Robert A. of Newport Richey, FL; Norman C. Wright of Marietta, GA; Patricia B. Golden and her husband Ronald P. of Hudson and Jennifer R. Eckler and her husband Richard C. of Sudbury. Cherished grandfather of Gregory M. Fine and his wife Adrienne of Walpole; Heather B. Mouawad and her husband Tony of Palm Harbor, FL; Matthew W. Eckler, David W. Eckler, Jonathan B. Eckler and Sarah J. Eckler all of Sudbury. Great-grandfather of Danielle and Michael Mouawad and Brendan and Evan Fine. Uncle of Clifford C. “Kip” Wilson of Hudson and William H. “Bill” Wilson of Marquette, MI. Brother of the late Leon Wright who died in the early 1920’s from Scarlet Fever and Ruth E. Wilson, a well known and devoted pediatric nurse at Leonard Morse Hospital who died in 1970.

Warren was a lifelong resident of Sudbury and graduated from Sudbury High School with the Class of 1941. He and his family were well respected dairy farmers in Sudbury and owners of Wright Farm which they managed and worked faithfully on a daily basis. For several years he was a postman with the United States Postal Service serving in Sudbury and retired after 20 years of dedicated service as a custodian for the Sudbury School Department in 1979. He volunteered his time with the Food Pantry of Sudbury and the with Sudbury Council on Aging. He was an accomplished trumpet player and musician and was active in the Community Band in Framingham, at the First Baptist Church of Sudbury and also performed with the Sudbury Senior Strutters and with a local barbershop quartet. He and his wife Dorothy enjoyed traveling to Italy and on his 65th birthday he climbed Ayers Rock in Australia. They also enjoyed dancing and in their earlier years danced at Carey’s Old Time Dance Hall in Natick. He was a devoted and loving husband, father and grandfather especially enjoyed the time spent with his family and watching his grandchildren and great-grandchildren enjoy life.

At the request of his family there will be no funeral home visitations and private graveside services will be held at the Wright family lot in Edgell Grove Cemetery in Framingham.

A Memorial Service celebrating his life will be held on Saturday, October 27, 2012 at 10:00 AM at the First Baptist Church of Sudbury, 162 Landham Road, Sudbury.

In lieu of flowers his family suggests memorial gifts in Warren’s memory may be sent to Wayside Hospice, 266 Cochituate Rd, Wayland, MA 01778 and would be appreciated.
