Obituary

Helen D. Hannus, 97, passed away Monday, October 22, 2012, at Notre Dame Long Term Care Center. She was born in Worcester, the youngest of 11 children, to Adrian and Matilda (Carlson) Hannus. Helen was a graduate of Commerce High School and was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Worcester. She retired from the Automobile Legal Association as a secretary and office manager after 32 years of service. Helen lived in Falmouth before relocating back to Worcester. While in Falmouth, she was a member of Christ Lutheran Church. She leaves four nieces and five nephews and many grandnieces and grandnephews. Helen was more than just a great aunt, she was a surrogate grandmother. The family extends their thanks to the staff at Notre Dame Long Term Care Center for the compassionate care they provided to Helen.

Funeral services under the direction of Nordgren Memorial Chapel, 300 Lincoln Street, will be held in the Chapel of Trinity Lutheran Church on Thursday, October 25, 2012 at 10 a.m. A calling period will be held in the church prior to the service from 9:30-10 a.m. Burial will follow in All Faiths Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Trinity Lutheran Church, 73 Lancaster Street, Worcester, MA 01609.
