Obituary

Richard V. "Dick" Jehlicka, 73, of Manchester, died on Saturday, October 20, 2012 at Catholic Medical Center, surrounded by his loving family and friends.

A time of gathering was held on Friday, October 26, 2012 at Lambert Funeral Home & Crematory, 1799 Elm Street, Manchester, directly followed by a service in the funeral home Chapel. Dick was born on March 14, 1939 in Worcester, MA, the son of Richard J. and LaRae V. (Wagenblast) Jehlicka. He was educated in the Worcester school system, and graduated from North Carolina State University. Dick was employed as a printer by Kenmore Press in Massachusetts for most of his life, a career he excelled at and enjoyed. Prior to retirement, Dick worked for OSRAM-Sylvania in Manchester.

Dick was a longtime president of his condominium association board, and brought excellent leadership and problem-solving abilities to the board. Dick enjoyed reading, crossword puzzles, cooking, golf, sports, spending quality time with those he loved, and occasional trips to the casino. His easy smile, great sense of humor and gentle wisdom endeared him to his family and friends, and he will be deeply missed by all who knew him.

Dick will be remembered as a loving husband, father, brother, grandfather, and a dear friend. Family members include his wife of 24 years, Loretta A. (Ouellette) Jehlicka of Manchester; his children, Michael Jehlicka of Greensboro, NC, Richard Jehlicka of Manchester, Amanda Cushman of Hudson, MA, Christopher Jehlicka of Raymond, ME, Sheri Skinner of Livonia, MI and Angela Hearn of Londonderry; several grandchildren; his siblings, Marcia Smith of Manchester and Joseph Wescott of East Longmeadow, MA; and nieces and nephews.
