Lorraine C. Traficante, 80, of Sandown, NH died Sunday October 21, 2012 in the Parkland Medical Center, Derry, NH surrounded by her loving family. Mrs. Traficante was born in Lowell, MA on August 5, 1932, a daughter of the late Nicholas and Annette (Brodeur) Koravos. She had resided in Sandown for the past 20 years, formerly of Salem, NH where she had lived for many years. Mrs. Traficante worked for many years for Store 24 in Lawrence, MA and Salem. She attended St. Joseph’s Church in Salem. She was an avid 10 pin bowler and a devout Red Sox and Patriots fan. She never missed an opportunity to watch or talk politics and sports.
She is survived by her husband of 56 years, Patrick A. Traficante of Sandown, three daughters, Judith A. Carney and her husband James of Barrington, NH, Lynda M. Bloom and her husband Bryan of Lancaster, NH, and Patricia A. Powers and her husband Richard of Ashby, MA, one son, Kevin A. Traficante and his wife Angela of Derry, eight grandchildren, one great-grandchild, one sister, Eleanor Koravos of Lowell, and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased in 2010 by her grandson, Korey P. Traficante.
Calling hours were held on Thursday October 25, 2012 from 5 – 8pm in the Peabody Funeral Homes and Crematorium, 15 Birch St., Derry. Funeral services were held on Friday at 9:00am in the funeral home. Burial followed at 11:00am in the NH State Veteran’s Cemetery, Route 3, Boscawen, NH.
