Obituary

Marie Trusty Axelrod, age 97, went to be with the Lord on Sunday, October 21, 2012. She was born June 7, 1915 in the Pine Valley Community of Yalobusha County, MS to the late Jesse Buren and Lu Ella Trusty. Marie was a secretary at Camp McCain in Grenada during WWII. After the war she married and moved to Long Island, NY where she had a family, then moved back to Water Valley, MS and was a secretary for the Yalobusha County Health Department where she retired with over 25 years of service, then moved to Oxford, MS. Marie was a member of First Baptist Church of Water Valley, MS. She was a true “Steel Magnolia”! She will always walk with us, she is with us still. A mother like ours is more than a memory, “she is a living presence”.

Visitation is planned for Tuesday, October 23, 2012 from 5 until 7 at Seven Oaks Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, October 24, 2012 at 11 AM in the Henry Chapel of Seven Oaks with Dr. Randy Bain officiating. Interment will take place in Oak Hill Cemetery.

She is survived by two daughters, Patti Triplett (Ted) of Riverside, CA and Pam Mills (Sam) of Oxford, MS; five grandchildren, Chad Mills of Oxford, Montana Triplett of NYC, Matt Mills of Lusby, MD, Robyn Triplett of Thousand Oaks, CA and Mimi Mills of Franklin, TN; and six great-grandchildren.
