FRANKLIN—Bernard F. Valente 89, of Franklin, died Saturday October 20, 2012 at UMASS Medical Center in Worcester, following an extended period of failing health. He was the husband of the late Gloria A. (Celima) Valente, who died in 2005.
Born in Franklin, September 22, 1923 a son of the late Bernadino and Angelina (Longobardi) Valente he was raised and educated in Franklin. He graduated Franklin High School in 1940 and Boston University in 1945 with a degree in accounting. He retired in 1989 from Clark Cutler-McDermott Company in Franklin, where he worked for more than 30 years as an accountant.
He was a member of Sacred Heart Council Knights of Columbus in Franklin, and the Franklin Country Club.
He is survived by a son, Peter B. Valente of Franklin, 2 daughters, Karlene Valente of Holliston, and Sandra LaRosa of California and 2 grandchildren.
He is also the brother of the late Lester P. Valente and Mary T. Valente.
His funeral service with interment at St. Mary’s Cemetery, Franklin will be private.
