Rebecca J. “Becky” (Owens) Karinska, age 58, of Brockton, formerly of South Boston, died unexpectedly October 18, 2012 at Good Samaritan Medical Center. Becky was the loving wife of Fredrick J. Karinska. Born and raised in Akron, OH, she was the daughter of the late James M. and Joann (Gray) Owens. She was a graduate of Coventry High School in Akron. Becky enjoyed time with her children and grandchildren, crocheting, gardening and working with stained glass. While living in South Boston, she enjoyed walks at Castle Island.
Becky was the mother of Brian Painter of Boston, Christine (Painter) Craige and her husband Robert of Brockton and John Karinska of Brockton; Nana of Jillian and Branden Painter and Devan Craige all of Brockton and Serena Painter of Boston. Sister of David Owens of Ohio, Mark Duhon of Ohio, Michael Duhon of Washington, Theresa Petro of Florida, Georgene Gotto of Tennessee and the late Patricia Duhon. She also leaves many nieces and nephews.
Visiting Hours will be held in the Conley Funeral Home, 138 Belmont Street, (Rte 123) Brockton, Monday 4-7pm. The funeral procession will gather at the funeral home Tuesday at 9:30am for a Funeral Mass in St. Edith Stein Parish at 10:30am. Cremation will follow.
