JoAnn P. Griffis, 67, of Sevierville, TN, went to be with the Lord on Friday, October 19, 2012 at her residence. She was born on October 15, 1945 in New Orleans, Louisiana to the late Bennie Romano and Gertrude Lane Romano. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Lawrence H. Griffis and two brothers, Bennie Romano and Terry Romano.
Graveside service will be held on Tuesday, October 23, 2012 at 1 p.m. at Fort Donelson Cemetery in Dover, TN with Deacon Dominick Azzara officiating. The procession will leave Neal-Tarpley-Parchman Funeral Home at 11:30 a.m. on Tuesday to go to Ft. Donelson Cemetery for burial.
JoAnn was of the Catholic faith.
She is survived by her partner by love, Bert Smith of Sevierville, TN; two sons, Michael Anthony Griffis (partner Robert) of San Antonio, TX and Robert Jerry Griffis (Carla) of Clarksville, TN; four daughters by love, Pamela Suggs, Angela Darnall (Marvin), Michelle Poole (Billy) of Clarksville, TN and Melissa Smith of Paducah, KY; brother, Al Romano; sister, Doris Netherland; eleven grandchildren; and three great grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Bert Smith, Michael Griffis, Robert Griffis, Tyler Darnall, Marvin Darnall, and Robert Lopez.
