GEVREKIAN, Edward J., age 90, of New Milford, NJ, formerly of Bolton Landing, NY passed away peacefully at his home, surrounded by his loving family, on Wednesday, October 17, 2012.
Born July 7, 1922 in Bridgeport, Conn., he was the son of the late Sarkis George Gevrekian and Sirpouhi (nee Dersahagian) Gevrekian.
Beloved husband of the late Eleanor (nee Woolley). Devoted father of Edward M. Gevrekian and his wife Joann, Lori Palma and her husband Raymond, and Gail Lemaire and her husband Thomas. Loving grandfather of Alexandra, Christopher and Ryan. Dear brother of the late Renee Derderian. Cherished uncle of Robert & John Derderian, and DeeDee Hesse.
Edward faithfully and proudly served his country, in the U.S. Army, during World War II. He then started his career as a photo engraver. His refined skills led him to work, for many years, at New York Twist Drill (Ramsey, NJ) and Sportcraft of (Bergenfield, NJ). He and Eleanor retired to their dearly loved home in Bolton Landing on Lake George.
Friends and family are invited for visitation at Volk Leber Funeral Home, 268 Kinderkamack Road, Oradell, NJ on Tuesday from 3-7 PM. A funeral service will begin in the funeral home at 6 PM.
