Julieta (Arruda) Almeida, age 81 of Fall River, passed away October 19, 2012 at home surrounded by her family. She was the wife of Jose Jermias Almeida. Born in Água de Pau, São Miguel, Açores, the daughter of the late Jacinto and Maria dos Anjos (Lopes) Arruda. Prior to retiring, Julieta worked in the Garment Mfg. industry as a Sewing Machine Operator. She was a parishioner of St. Michael Church.
Besides her husband, she is survived by her children: Jacinto Almeida of Brampton, Ontario, Canada, Jorge Almeida of Fall River, Margarida Almeida of Ponta Delgada, São Miguel, Açores, Rui Almeida, Veronica Coutu, both of Fall River; siblings: Maria de Deus Carreiro, Natalia Pacheco, Fatima Mendonca, Almerinda Machado, all of London, Ontario, Canada, and Carlos Arruda of Westport; 13 grandchildren; 6 great grandchildren; and several nieces & nephews.
Her funeral will take place from the MANUEL ROGERS & SONS FUNERAL HOME, INC. 1521 N. Main St. Fall River on MONDAY at 9:30 A.M. followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Michael Church at 10:30 A.M. Interment in St. Patrick Cemetery. Calling hours SUNDAY 5-8 P.M.
