Mrs. Audrey J. (Powell) Avila, of Taunton, died unexpectedly Wednesday, October 17 in the Boston Medical Center, Boston. She was the beloved wife of the late Dennais S. Avila, who passed on October 11. She was born 64 years ago in Virginia, the daughter of Gilbert and Eunice K. (Enos) Andrade of Taunton, and the late Rufus A. Powell. She was educated in Taunton, having graduated from Taunton High School, and was also a graduate of Fisher Junior College. Prior to her retirement, she had been employed as an accountant for Community Care of Taunton for over 12 years. She enjoyed camping, gardening, trips to Salem, arts and crafts and knitting.
She leaves: 2 sons: Dale Hebert and his wife, Ivette of Taunton, and Glen Hebert of Taunton; 1 daughter: Robbin Leary and her husband, Brian of Sandwich; 1 brother: Skip Andrade and his wife, Jackie of New York; 4 sisters: Sharon Burgess of Virginia, Mary Lou Andrade of Raynham, Claudia Neault and her husband, Chip of Bridgewater, and Roberta Gringorten and her husband, Sheldon of Newton; 8 grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
A Visitation will be held at The Riendeau-Mulvey Funeral Home, 467 Bay Street, on Monday, October 29 from 4:00 to 8:00 P.M. Relatives and friends are invited to attend. Interment will be private.
