Lincolnton, GA - Tim Douglas Grooms, 59, beloved husband of 34 years to Linda Grooms, died on Tuesday, October 16, 2012 at University Hospital.
Tim was a member of Local Union 150 in Augusta, GA. He worked at various nuclear plants throughout his working career before retiring. He was also the co-owner of Gateway Storage. He was also a member and on the Board of Directors at Columbia County Game and Fish, Inc. Tim enjoyed fishing, canoeing, and spending time with his family and friends.
Additional survivors include his daughter; Ginger Grooms-Vaughan and husband Carey of Lake Oconee, GA, his son; William D. Grooms of Augusta, GA, his brother; Terry Grooms of Myrtle Beach, SC, beloved aunt; Frances, two nieces, and several aunts and uncles. Tim was preceded in death by his parents, the late William and Joyce Grooms.
The family will receive friends from 6:00PM until 8:00PM on Friday, October 19, 2012 at the funeral home.
A private memorial service will be held at a later date.
