WORCESTER: Elizabeth A. “Betty” (Daigneault) Apostal, 75, died peacefully on Monday, October 15, 2012 in Rose Monahan Hospice Home, after a long illness.
She leaves five sons, Thomas and Dimitre Apostal , Frank and John Lashua, all of Worcester, Leon Lashua of Vermont; a daughter, Kim Mazur of Rutland; 15 grandchildren; 7 great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. Born in Worcester, she was raised by Homer and Beatrice (Kimelaskas) Pigeon and lived in the area all her life. Two daughters, Deborah J. Vermette and Tammy Lee Gibeault, both predeceased her.
Betty was a long time member and an active volunteer at the former St. Casmir’s Church assisting with various activities and functions. She loved animals and enjoyed several hobbies including collecting antiques, old books and other collectables, many of which she donated to museums. She was very family oriented and always concerned about their health and well being.
A CALLING HOUR will be held from 9:15 to 10:15 A.M. on THURSDAY, OCT. 18 in KELLY FUNERAL HOME, 154 Lincoln St, followed by A FUNERAL MASS at 11 A.M. in ST. JOHN’S CHURCH, 40 Temple St. Burial will follow in St. John’s Cemetery.
