Mary Lou E. Abbott
Evans, GA – Entered into rest Tuesday, October 16, 2012, Mrs. Mary Lou Edmunds Abbott, 94, wife of 65 years to the late Mr. W.F. “Bud” Abbott, Jr.
Mrs. Abbott was born in McDuffie County and moved with her husband to Augusta in 1947. In 1962, Mrs. Abbott and her husband started W.F. Abbott Oil Company. She retired in 1981. She was a former member of the Oriental Garden Club and a member of the Augusta Women’s Club. Mrs. Abbott was a member of Warren Baptist Church.
Family members include son: W. Franklin Abbott III (Mary Ann) of Augusta; two grandchildren: Walter F. Abbott IV, Susan Abbott Poston (Tony); and two great grandchildren: Mack Poston, Mattie Poston; nieces: Reba Black of Waynesboro, GA, Becky Tucker of Norwood, GA, Jane Edmunds and Kaye Howard of Warrenton, GA; nephew: Stephen S. Edmunds of Seal Beach, CA.
A graveside service will be held Friday, October 19, 2012 at 11:00 A.M. in Westover Memorial Park with Rev. Dave Dillard officiating.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to University Health Care Foundation, Brandon Wilde Endowment, 2100 Central Ave., Suite D-1, Augusta, GA 30904 or Warren Baptist Church, 3203 Washington Rd., Martinez, GA 30907.
