Dan T. Fisher
June 16, 1919 to Oct.13, 2012

Dan T. Fisher,93, of Anderson, died Saturday, October 13, 2012 at the Community North Hospital in Indianapolis.

He was born June 16, 1919 to Thomas C. and Helen (Kaufman) Fisher in Anderson.

He was a 1936 graduate of Anderson High School, where he was a Three Letterman : Basketball, football and track, and a 1940 graduate of Purdue University with a B.S. degree in Mechanical engineering. He was a member of Phi Kappa Psi fraternity, the Gimlet Club, Skull and Crescent Athletics and varsity Basketball and Track teams.

He married Barbara Simmermon Fisher on April 21, 1951.

Following his studies at Purdue he worked 41 years at Delco Remy in management positions in manufacturing, sales,and production control.

His community activities include - Director of the Anderson Fine Arts Center and Bill Wilson Boy's Club in their early days, Kikthewenund Council of Boy Scouts - Chamber of Commerce, Trustee and Past President of Maplewood Cemetery Corporation; member of Anderson Country Club, Tourist Club, Elks' Lodge #209; Lifelong Member of the First Presbyterian Church serving on committees and as an elder, served as co-chairman of the Madison County Republican Finance Committee for 12 years and was chairman of the credentials Committee during Anderson Mayor Thomas R. McMahan's Administration; was named a Sagamor of the Wabash by Indiana Governor Robert D. Orr in 1988.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Barbara (Simmermon) Fisher on March 13, 2009, his parents and a brother Thomas K. Fisher.

He is survived by his daughter Nancy (Randall) Cooper of Pennsylvania, one cousin and several nieces and nephews.

Memorial donations in lieu of flowers may be given to First Presbyterian Church, Madison County Community Foundation or the charity of the donor's choice.

Dan's family would like to thank Rhonda Bowling for the compassionate care and assistance she provided for him over the last three years. We will always be grateful for her many kindnesses.

His funeral services will be held on Thursday, October 18, 2012 at 10:30 A.M. at First Presbyterian Church; 230 West 9th Street; Anderson, with Rev. Ryan Rasmussen officiating. Burial in East Maplewood Cemetery.

The visitation will be Wednesday, October 17 from 4 PM until 6 PM at Rozelle-Johnson Funeral Service.
