Obituary

Jean M. Ryle, age 60, of Wilmington formerly of Jamaica Plain passed away peacefully following a short illness on October 13th in her home with her loving family at her side. Jean was the beloved wife of Kevin L. Ryle. Born in Boston she was the cherished daughter of the late Robert and Agnes (Steele) McNiff.

Jean was raised and educated in the Jamaica Plain section of Boston and was a graduate of Jamaica Plain High School. Following High School she attended the Catherine Laboure School of Nursing and became a registered nurse. Jean also earned her Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing from UMASS Boston and was most proud of her Masters Degree in Nursing that she earned from the University of Phoenix. Jean proudly served as a member of the Nursing Corp with the United States Army and the Army Reserves for nearly ten years and was honorably discharged in 1993 as a 1st Lieutenant. In more recent years Jean worked at the Lahey Clinic Oncology Center in Burlington. For a short time Jean also served on the Wilmington Historical Commission

When Jean was not working and caring for others she loved nothing more than being together with her family and friends. Throughout the years she enjoyed traveling and being outdoors enjoying nature, whether she was hiking, skiing, biking or snowshoeing. Jean loved to be with her family and many dear friends who were most important to her. She will be greatly missed.

Along with her beloved husband Kevin, Jean is survived by her daughters Heather Crose and her husband Douglas of Merrimack, NH, Meghan Ryle of Dracut, and Maura Weadick and her husband Richard of Pepperell. She was the loving grandmother of Ave Weadick, Madison and Mason Crose. She is also survived by her brother, Robert McNiff of Jamaica Plain and is further survived by many dear friends. In keeping with Jean's wishes funeral services will be private.
