LOIS (DICKSON) GLENZEL, of Hingham, passed away peacefully on October 12th, 2012 at South Shore Hospital in Weymouth. She leaves her beloved husband, Harold of Hingham, son Steven and his wife Katherine also of Hingham; daughter Karen Bellino of Simsbury, CT; 4 grandchildren; Matthew Glenzel of Hingham, Abigail Glenzel of Mechanicsburg, PA, Benjamin Adams and his wife Sherry of E. Granby, CT and Jonathan Adams of Jacksonville, NC. She is also survived by great-granddaughter Elizabeth Louise Adams of E. Granby, CT.
Born in Harvard, MA, Lois and her husband moved extensively in the eastern United States area during their 61 years of Marriage, twenty three of which were spent in Naples, Florida. They cruised and travelled extensively throughout Europe, the United States, Australia and New Zealand.
An avid bridge player she started playing with her parents and brother at 8 years old. She played golf for 55 years, most recently as a member of the Cohasset Golf Club and Naples Heritage Golf and Country Club in Florida. She sailed with her husband out of the Hingham Yacht Club and the Portland, ME Yacht Club for many years. She was a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution, the Florence Crittenton League and the Order of the Eastern Star.
A Memorial Service will be conducted on Saturday, Oct. 20th at 10 AM at the Linden Ponds Performing Arts Center at the Derby Club House at Linden Ponds, Hingham.
The interment will take place at 2:30 PM on Oct. 20th at the Bellevue Cemetery in Harvard, MA.
