JACKSON, Frances L. 83 of Englewood, NJ. passed away on Thursday October 11, 2012.
Frances is survived by one sister Shirley Walker of West Columbia, S.C. and one brother Stanley Earle of Cayce, S.C. Her devoted and loving children: Delores Harrison (late James Harrison) Englewood, NJ; Charles P. Jackson (Geraldine) Rockledge, FL; Ethel L. Sykes (John) Englewood, NJ; Ada W. Clay (Leon) Englewood, NJ and Wilbert Jackson Jr. (Debra) Teaneck, NJ. Eleven grandchildren, twelve great grandchildren, hosts of nieces/great nieces, nephews/great nephews, cousins, extended family and friends.
Frances is preceded in death by her parents Fletcher and Amanda Earle, six sisters and three brothers.
Frances was born in Cayce, South Carolina on August 5, 1929. She later moved to New York where she met and married the late Wilbert Jackson Sr. who preceded her on May 7th, 1987; they were married 40 years. Together, they raised five children.
Frances Jackson worked for Social Services Federation where she was an infant and child care giver, and later house mother of the boy’s group home until her retirement in 1991. She enjoyed worshipping God, traveling, dining, and loving and caring for her family. She was a member of the Community Baptist Church where she was actively involved in the Mother’s Board and Senior Choir.
Visitation will be held Tuesday Oct. 16, 2012 from 5 PM – 7 PM and Wednesday Oct. 17, 2012 from 9 AM – 11 AM at Community Baptist Church, 224 First Street, Englewood, NJ. A funeral service be held, following the morning visitation, at 11 AM. Pastor Reverend Dr. Lester Taylor, Jr. of Community Baptist Church will be officiating. Interment will follow at George Washington Memorial Park, 234 Paramus Road, Paramus, NJ.
