Josephine C. Giarratani, age 91, of Woburn formerly of Medford passed away on October 11th at the Melrose Wakefield Hospital following a short illness. She was the beloved wife of the late Frank Giarratani. Born in Boston she was the daughter of the late Matteo and Maria (Fradepietro) Rello.
Josephine was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. Family was her main focus in life and nothing gave her more joy than caring for her home making sure it was always a warm and inviting place for her family to be together and spend time with each other.
She is survived by her children, Salvatore Giarratani and his wife Gloria of AZ, Matthew Giarratani and his wife Patricia of Woburn, Frank Giarratani and his late wife Kathryn of PA. She was the loving grandmother of David Giarratani and wife Tzeitel of CO, Matthew Giarratani and wife Donna of Middleton, Ann Marie Dalton and husband Erik of Woburn, Blake Giarratani and wife Michele of CA, Lauren Giarratani and Jeff Irwin of PA, Frank Giarratani and Emi Nishiyama of Japan. She was the loving great grandmother of Steven and Isabella Giarratani, Alexandria and Katarina Dalton. Sister of Anthony Rello and wife Norma of Brockton, Ann Bono of Medford, the late Virginia, Richard and Domenic Rello. Sister-in-law of the late Nicholas Bono and Mary Rello. Also survived by several nieces and nephews.
Funeral Services will be held from the McLaughlin - Dello Russo Funeral Home, 60 Pleasant St., WOBURN, Thursday, October 18th, at 10 a.m. followed by a funeral mass celebrated in St. Charles Borromeo Church, 280 Main St., Woburn, at 11 a.m. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend. Visiting hours Wednesday from 5 thru 7 p.m. Services will conclude with burial at Oak Grove Cemetery, Medford. It has been requested that in lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made in Josephine's memory to the St. Jude Tribute Program, PO Box 1000, Dept. 142, Memphis, TN 38101-9908.
