Sallie Marie (Kates) King, age 90 of Anderson died October 12, 2012 at Community Hospital North in Indianapolis after a brief illness.
She was born in Livingston, TN to John and Clara (Simpson) Cates.
She was a homemaker. She loved her family, cooking, country and gospel music and she loved Jesus.
She is survived by her 7 children, Anna M. (Beacher) Phipps of Anderson; James A. (Sandra) King of Anderson; Wanda (Robert) Cabral of Cal; Rosalie (Raymond) Cuzzart of Cal; Michael (Rita) King; Lisa Garrity and Danny (Pamela) King all of Anderson; 26 grandchildren, Rod; Tim; Rhonda; Jacob; Jimmy; David; Terry; Sally; Tammy; Anna; Shannon; Laura; Robert; Ray; Jason; Angela; Steven; Shawn; Paul; Peter; Shell; Cassi; Chasity; Shelby; Amber and Kimberly; several great grandchildren; several great great grandchildren ; several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband Hollis King; 2 children, Clara King and Dewey King; 2 grandsons, Tommy Ashburn and Jamie King; 2 sisters and 4 brothers.
Services will be held on Tuesday, October 16, 2012 at 2:30 PM at Rozelle Johnson Funeral Service with Pastor Steven Wolfe officiating. Burial will be in Anderson Memorial Park Cemetery.
The visitation will be on Tuesday beginning at 12:30 PM until the time of the funeral.
Memorial contributions may be given to the family to help with funeral expenses.
