Kenneth J. DeCosta
Retired Glazier for Brockway-Smith Company

TEWKSBURY: Kenneth J. DeCosta, age 82, of Billerica, formerly of Tewksbury, passed away on Tuesday, October 9, 2012, at the Heritage Manor in Lowell.
He was the beloved husband of Mary G. (Casey) DeCosta, with whom he celebrated their 61st wedding anniversary on April 22, 2012.
Born in Somerville on June 21, 1930, he was the son of the late William DeCosta and the late Alice P. (Hall) DeCosta.
Ken was raised in Somerville, attended Somerville schools and graduated from Somerville High School in 1946.
Following high school, Ken enlisted in the U.S Army and served during the Korean War.
He resided in Tewksbury for 33 years until moving to Billerica in 2002.
Prior to his retirement in 1992, he was employed as a Glazier by the Brockway-Smith Company in Andover, where he worked for 43 years.
Ken's passions were reading the daily newspaper, and following the New England Patriots.
Ken's family wishes to express sincere thanks and appreciation to the Staff at Heritage Manor and Life Choice Hospice for the dignified care he received.
In addition to his wife, Mary, Ken is survived by one son, Kenneth J. DeCosta, Jr. and his wife Ardis of Billerica; one granddaughter, Casey L. DeCosta of Billerica; one sister, Barbara Foley of Billerica; also many nieces and nephews.
Ken was the brother of the late Dorothy Downey, Shirley Bucci, Phyllis Davies, William and Robert DeCosta.
Calling hours will be Sunday, Oct. 14, from 2-6 p.m., in the Farmer & Dee Funeral Home, 16 Lee St., Tewksbury. His funeral will be held Monday, Oct. 15, at 10:30 a.m., from the funeral home, followed by his Funeral Mass at 11:30 a.m., in St. Williams Church, 1351 Main St., Rte. 38, Tewksbury. Interment at Tewksbury Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory may be made to the Alzheimer's Association, 311 Arsenal St., Watertown, MA 02472.
