Obituary

Manchester– Frederick F. Kos, 83 died October 9, 2012 at his home surrounded by his loving family.
He was born in Manchester on October 2, 1929 the son of Stanley and Stella (Dudka) Kos.
He was a graduate of Manchester Central High School class of 1947.
He served his country for 42 years in the New Hampshire Army National Guard.
He was an administrative assistant and percussionist with the 39th Army Band. He was also the founder of the NHARNG Alumni Band. He held membership in the Local 349 American Federation of Musicians and was a long time trustee (this year’s 2012 president), was bass singer in HTC Frederick Chopin Choir, member of N.A.R.F.E. (National Association for Retired Federal Employees), and the American Legion Henry J. Sweeney Post #2. For 4 years, Fred was the drummer in the Vincent Ferdinando’s Orchestra at the Palace Theatre playing for vaudeville shows. For 2 years he was the drummer for Ted Herbert’s Big Band Orchestra. He was also a member of the George Ine’s Orchestra who entertained at Manchester Country Club for over 20 years as the house band. Recently, he was also involved with the Melody Men and the Rent A Party Band.
He was a longtime communicant of Holy Trinity Cathedral. He was the chairman on the Holy Trinity Cemetery Committee, he also volunteered on the Holy Trinity Cathedral Maintenance Committee and was a member of the HTC Seniors. Fred was always volunteering or working on some church or cemetery endeavor. He will be sorely missed.
Family members include his wife of 60 years, Louise (Cote) Kos of Manchester, 4 daughters: Carol Pouliot and her husband, Raymond of Merrimack; Kim Martin and her husband, Mario of Manchester; Sharon Frothingham and her husband, Charles of Nashua; Tina Coburn and her husband, Jeffrey of Claremont; 12 grandchildren: Jason Pouliot and his wife; Linda, Amy Sullivan and her husband, Cory; Joseph Pouliot and his wife, Jillian; Kristen Chadbourne and her husband, Robert; Craig Martin, Tyler Martin, Abbie Martin, Kelsey Frothingham, Taylor Frothingham, Erica Frothingham, Ellissa Coburn, Scott Coburn, 8 great grandchildren; Micah, Jonathan, Avery, Lily, Molly, Jacob, Chase, Will; 1 sister; Jane Navarro of Tampa, FL and many nieces and nephews.
Calling hours will be on Sunday from 1 to 3 & 5 to 7 PM at J. N. Boufford & Sons Funeral Home, 110 Bridge St.
A mass of Christian burial will be celebrated by BP. Paul Sobiechowski on Monday at 10 AM in Holy Trinity Polish National Cathedral, Pearl and Union Sts.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Holy Trinity Cemetery Fund or the HTC Frederick Chopin Choir.
