WESTFIELD – Joseph “Joe” Oleskiewicz, Jr., 64, of Westfield was Called Safely Home on Tuesday, October 9, 2012. He passed into Eternal Life from his home surrounded by the care and comfort of his loving daughter and his cherished grandson. He was born in Holyoke on June 9, 1948 a son of Joseph F. Oleskiewicz and the late Dorothy (Briggs) Oleskiewicz. He was raised in the Hampton Ponds section of Westfield and lived in the city for most of his life. Joe specialized in rough and finish carpentry and for the past 27 years, was employed in the Engineering Department at Baystate Medical Center in Springfield. During his leisure time, he enjoyed golfing at many of the area country clubs. Besides his father, he leaves his devoted daughter, Kristina M. Oleskiewicz and her fiancé, Ken Johnson of Westfield; his cherished grandson whom he adored, Anthony Joseph Farrar; his former wife, Joanne M. Gustafson of Southampton; and his close extended family members including, Damien Lemelin and Mary Lemelin. His friends are invited to visiting hours on Saturday morning, October 13, 2012 from 9 a.m. until 11 a.m. which will be followed by a Celebration of Life Service at 11 a.m. at the St. Pierre – Phaneuf Springfield Chapels, (414-737-1177), 7 Chapin Terrace, Springfield, MA 01107. Memorial donations may be made in his memory to the Children’s Miracle Network at Baystate Medical Center, 280 Chestnut Street, Springfield, MA 01199.
