Hanson – Ellamae R. (Pierce) Hannan 92, a lifelong resident of Hanson, died Wednesday October 10 after a period of failing health. She was the beloved wife of the late Francis Hannan.
Born in Pembroke she was the daughter of the late Velven and Mae L. (Daley) Pierce.
Prior to her retirement she had worked several years as a nurse’s aide at the former Plymouth County Hospital of Hanson.
Ellamae was a devoted wife and mother and her greatest joy came from the time spent with her large family.
She is survived by her loving children Ellamae Blake and her husband Fredrick of Fort Meyers, FL, Robert Hannan of Alabama, Kevin Hannan of Hanson, and Ruth Ann Bohannon of Alabama, her grandchildren John Reed and his wife Debbie of Hanson, Mark Ledger and his wife Kerry of Whitman, and Ellamae Bohannon of Hanson and her sister Mary Holmes of Alabama. She is also survived by many other grandchildren, great grandchildren and nieces and nephews.
Her funeral service will be held Sunday October 14 at 4 PM in the Blanchard Funeral Chapel (Rte. 58 @ the rotary) Whitman. Visiting hours will be held prior to the service from 2-4 PM. Burial will be private.
