Obituary

Mr. Kenneth A. Peters, of Medford passed away peacefully at the Lawrence Memorial Hospital in Medford on October 9th following a brief illness. He was the beloved husband of Marilyn A. "Dukey" (Catanzano) and together they shared more than 39 years of marriage. Born in Springfield, MA he was the son of the late Andrew L. and Isabella (Dacey) Peters.

Ken was a Medford resident for nearly forty years. He was a proud Veteran of United States Navy, honorably serving during the Korean War. He worked for more than twenty years as bus driver with the former Hudson Bus Company of Medford. He retired from the Museum of Fine Arts in Boston where he also worked as a security guard for more than twenty years. Ken loved cooking and was an accomplished chef working for a number of years at the English Tea Room in Boston on Newbury Street. In his leisure time he enjoyed playing cards with his family and friends. He was also passionate about current events and politics and enjoyed sharing his life experiences with his family when he thought it could be helpful. However his greatest joy was just spending time and being with his with his beloved wife, Marilyn.

In addition to his wife, Ken is survived by his loving brothers and sisters-in-law, Peter Catanzano and wife Barbara of NH, Paul Catanzano and wife Kathy of Wilmington, Anthony Catanzano and wife Joan of Beverly, Philip Catanzano and wife Joanne of Wakefield, Elizabeth Kaloustian and husband Tony of Marlboro, Christine Mercuri and husband Joseph of Somerville, Marl Catanzano and wife Kiki of Tewksbury, Matthew Catanzano and wife Sandy of SC, John Catanzano of Saugus, Louise and Therese Catanzano both of Medford, Alice Silva and husband Rich of Wilmington, James Catanzano and wife Evelyn of Tewksbury. He was the father of Carl and Kenneth Peters both of Malden. He is also survived by many loving nieces and nephews.

In keeping with Ken's wishes, funeral services and interment will be private. It has been requested that in lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made in Ken's memory to Hallmark Health VNA and Hospice, 178 Savin Street, Suite 300, Malden, MA 02148
