Obituary

FRAMINGHAM: Billie F. (Daniels) Welch, age 74, a beautiful wife, mother and grandmother, passed away peacefully on Sunday morning, October 7, 2012, in the presence of her devoted family. She was the loving wife of Richard W. Welch for 51 years.

Born in Broken Bow, OK, on September 28, 1938, she was a daughter of the late Jim Daniels and Nobie (Scroggins) Daniels Moore. Billie was raised by her mother and stepfather, John Moore, and was a graduate of the Tacoma Schools in Tacoma, WA.

Billie and Richard started their married life in Washington, settling in Framingham in 1966. Billie was employed with the former Cushing Hospital where she was inspired to continue her education. She earned her accreditation as a licensed practical nurse and remained at Cushing in that capacity for many years. An active member of the New Jerusalem Baptist Church, Billie enjoyed being a member of the choir and working with the Women’s Auxiliary. A faith filled and caring lady who kept her door open to all, she was happiest in the presence of her family and delighted in her grandchildren’s accomplishments.

Predeceased by their son Dereck at the age of 17, she is survived by Richard; two sons, Robin R. Welch and his wife Karen of Framingham, and Richard W. Welch, Jr. and his wife Jacqueline of University Place, WA; five grandchildren, Jared, Jovan, Kayla, Ariel, and Jamal; her great-granddaughter, Alyssa; four brothers, Jimmy Moore and his wife Carol, Johnny Moore and his wife Josie, and Oliver Moore and his wife Reneé, all of WA, and Donald Moore and his wife Mary of CA; a sister, Pearl Marie Jenkins of CA; and a host of nieces and nephews and extended family members. She was also a sister of the late Nobie Jean Judie.

A Memorial Service will be held at the New Jerusalem Baptist Church, 10 Frederick Street, Framingham, on Saturday, October 13th at 10:00a.m. Visiting hours will be in the John Everett & Sons Funeral Home, 4 Park Street at Natick Common, Natick, on Friday 4 – 7p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Billie’s memory to the Dana Farber Cancer Research Institute, 10 Brookline Place West, Brookline, MA 02146.
